Khoya Paneer Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup khoya (mawa)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or clarified butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan or kadhai over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute or until the raw aroma disappears.
  4. Add the tomato puree and cook the masala until the oil starts to separate from it.
  5. Lower the heat and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook the masala for a few more minutes.
  6. In a separate pan, heat ghee and add khoya. Cook the khoya for a few minutes until it becomes slightly brown and releases its aroma.
  7. Add the cooked khoya to the tomato-onion masala and mix well.
  8. Now, add the paneer cubes and gently stir so that the paneer gets coated with the khoya masala.
  9. Pour in the fresh cream and mix everything together. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes on low heat.
  10. Crush the kasuri methi between your palms and sprinkle it over the paneer gravy. Also, add garam masala and give it a gentle stir.
  11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Your rich and creamy Khoya Paneer is ready to be served. It pairs well with naan, roti, or jeera rice. Enjoy this delectable Indian delicacy with your family and friends!
